Vanlifer, Big Little Campers - The Little One
A light-weight, highly repeatable campervan conversion for both the Vanlifer LTD workshop to install in rental vans, fulfilling a contract with Big Little Campers LTD. It was also sold as a kitset for consumer customers to install into their own vans.
The highlight of this design is its clean and cohesive aesthetic, outclassing other homemade conversions, while not putting it in the price range of high-end, tailor made conversions. This was done using CNC cabinetry processes and objective driven design problem solving, to achieve results based around streamlining the Vanlifer LTD workshop process for higher efficiency and a better quality of delivered product, meaning higher reliability.

I was brought in to this project after some of the proof of concept vans had been delivered. I was tasked with using my industrial and workshop experience, combined with industrial design processes and thinking, to develop the design and manage the conversion process. This involved making numerous design alterations and providing recommendations for the purpose of:
Furthering its clean and cohesive modern minimal aesthetic.
Problem solving functional issues.
Ensuring reliable functionality.
I was also tasked with creating detailed build process instructions and charts to provide to workshop floor employees as guidelines for converting the vans. This ensured the conversion was repeatable and trackable, allowing for easy identification of troublesome tasks, and elevating the consistency of the delivered product.
