Tubbi

The brief for this University project was to design a product for an existing brand/design firm, that follows the aesthetic and ethos they have developed. In this case, it was Wishbone Design Studio.

Please note that the following product was designed as a thought exercise as part of a university project, and is not related to Wishbone Design in any way.

Following the ethos of Wishbone Design Studio meant designing a product that:

  • Has a wide target age range, prolonging the products life.

  • Promotes vestibular development.

  • Is an indoor and outdoor toy.

  • Uses sustainable materials, either being constructed of timber, or their in-house developed recycled nylon.

  • Is highly customizable.

Below is the poster from my final presentation.

Development

A large part of the development of this project was ensuring that the cover that made it into a baby bouncer worked, and was strong enough to hold a child.

For this, a test rig was made, and multiple iterations of the cover were made, experimenting with the strength and tightness of the elastic band.

Last of all, the scale model with a mockup cover, with a mockup harness.
