The development in this group project was focused on creating a chair that included some basic, but well implemented ergonomic features that a lot of modern casual seating does away with, such as lumbar support and a downwards curve at the end of the seat pan.

The frame of the chair is constructed of sustainably sourced American ash, and the seat pan of recycled HDPE. This was chosen for its warmer semantic and strength. We also wanted to retain the frames uninterrupted form, and keep the frame and seat pan as two separate visual elements, meaning that it was necessary to use a different colour.
